Known for his distinctive blend of lounge, exotica
and funk-fired jazz, Charles Lazarus’ eclectic
career has been met with acclaim from critics
worldwide.
Charles made his main-stage
Carnegie Hall solo debut with the New York String
Orchestra at the age of 19 while still a student at
the Juilliard School in New York. Currently a member
of the Minnesota Orchestra and once a member of the
Dallas Brass, Meridian Arts Ensemble and Canadian
Brass, Charles is a teacher, composer and cultured
performer.
Charles’ own creation, A Night in the Tropics,
takes audiences on a melodious journey through some
of the most alluring parts of the globe. The concert
features music inspired by the sultry sounds and
rhythms of the world’s most tropical destinations,
including Brazil, Hawaii and Greece. With Charles
spotlighting on the trumpet accompanied by piano,
bass and drums, audiences are promised a vacation
from the ordinary and a passport to paradise.
