Dipped in passion and soaked with culture, this
brand new quintet fronted by Irish coloratura
soprano, Kim Sheehan, is producing uniquely original
works of art.
Celtic Coloratura fuses Kim’s
two greatest passions – the operatic and Irish folk
repertoire. With hand-picked international musicians
– pianist and husband Tom Hodge, bassist Peter
Nelson, violinist Johannes Neupert and percussionist
Berkeley Williams – Kim has managed to make her
devotion to her homeland and love for the opera a
magical pairing of rarity.
After recording their first CD in early 2011, they
traveled through Europe debuting performances in
Berlin
and London and
touring Germany.
Performing traditional Irish treasures such as “Down
by the Salley Gardens” and film favorites such as
“Over the Rainbow,” audiences won’t just be
impressed, they’ll garner an entirely new
experience.
