FIESTA FOLKLORICO
Featuring Los Caporales
Founded in 1993, Los Caporales has become one of the most
popular groups in San Antonio and the surrounding area. This Grammy-nominated group of musicians has
performed with performers, such as Flaco Jimenez and Mariachi Vargas, Mariachi
Sol de Mexico.
While the group’s main goal
is to preserve the rich, vibrant and traditional mariachi style and folkloric
dance, they have pushed the limits of traditional mariachi to develop Fiesta Folklorico.
Fiesta Folklorico is a celebration of the cultural music and dance of Latin American,
Spain and Portugal. Featuring 8 dancers
and 8 musicians, Fiesta Folklorico
is a presentation filled with folkloric and flamenco dance, intertwined with
strong musical presentation. Throughout
this visual journey, unique musical styles and interpretation of familiar tunes
accent the one-of-a kind performance.
For seven seasons, Fiesta Folklorico has been seen by
thousands of guests at Fiesta Texas, the entertainment award-winning theme park
in San Antonio. Other performance
venues have included the Aladdin and Mirage Hotels in Las Vegas, America West
Arena in Phoenix, and the Santa Barbara Bowl.
Fiesta Folklorico was honored as one of the first Latin acts to perform at the Ordway
Theater in St. Paul, Minnesota.
